About Me

I am a Licensed Psychologist with over 20 years of experience working in public schools as a school psychologist, counselor, early childhood mental health specialist, multicultural assessment team consultant, and teacher. I moved to Fort Collins in 2002 and received my doctorate degree in School Psychology from the University of Northern Colorado in 2008.

After graduating, I chose to work as a school psychologist in the local public school districts and raise my three beautiful children. They have been, and continue to be, my greatest teachers, along with all of the wonderful children I have assessed, counseled, and helped across Northern Colorado. 

My work in schools has enabled me to understand all of the processes related to the identification of Learning Disabilities and other disorders in the schools. I can help parents navigate the school systems that are in place to support children, and grow into advocates for their children. Some supports may include (IEPs) Individualized Education Plans, 504 plans, the MTSS process, gifted and talented identification, and twice exceptionality. 

I am a published author and researcher and have presented at national conferences across the country in the areas of school psychology and education. I have focused my practice in the area of giftedness and twice exceptionality because, in my experience, children are often under-identified for gifted programs due to disabilities or learning differences that may mask their strengths. Further, I believe that every child has gifts to offer the world, and I enjoy helping children recognize their strengths and to use them to compensate for areas of weakness.
